About

Since a very young age I have always enjoyed making movies as a hobby with my friends and only realised by the time I was at college that I might be able to make a career out of it. After one year of doing fine art I had a conversation at college with a media lecturer and decided to transfer over to film. I felt like this was a much more relatable platform in which to express myself and I am much more passionate about my film work. My fine art background has improved my eye for the aesthetic side of film making making me consider each frame as if it were a photograph or a painting.

Now I have completed a degree in Film and Media Production at Sheffield Hallam. This course allowed me to have a go at all or most aspects of film making and made me realise that I particularly enjoy cinematography, as it is very hands on and deeply involved in the creative process of the film. I like the challenge of making the film look amazing. The course has taught me a lot about myself and working with other people, things that are not included in the learning criteria but are probably more important.

I decided to leave the country as soon as I Graduated from Sheffield Hallam so I moved to Romania for a while working free lance for experience and just asking people if I could turn up on film sets, make tea, move equipment, set up lights ect in order to simply be on large film sets and see what I could learn. (I was on the film set for the latest Unicef charity TV advert in Romania combating child abuse) This was a great opportunity to learn how the professional industry works and also I got the see a Phantom camera and spent the day with the camera team.

I have now moved back to England and something I missed whilst in Romania was the equipment I have at home such as a Panasonic GH4 4k camera, a crane, DSLR controler, slider, tracks, heavy duty tripods, sound recorder, shoulder mount and a steadycam. This collection of equipment I have amassed means small projects become very easy to make as most of the required equipment is already provided for a shoot.
